Lens Summary

Overview

Some Technical Highlights for you to consider: The fastest 300mm lens on the market, offering an exceptional large maximum aperture for its Focal length. Large maximum aperture of f/2.0 provides bright and easy-to-focus images in the viewfinder and allows photography in very dim light. Compressed perspective and extremely shallow Depth of field. Internal Focusing (IF) design permits easy handling and quick, accurate, silky-smooth focusing without any extension in the lens barrel. Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass insures crisp images free of Chromatic aberration. Focusing ring can be preset so that it will stop at a particular distance setting for rapid refocusing. Built-in telescopic "bayonet-type" lens hood and 360° rotable tripod socket collar.

yes, i am the proud owner. i rarely use it, because too heavy and big. initially i wanted to use it for night time photography, but noticed that there is some blue fringing at the sides, and especially at night pictures rather disturbing. prices for this lens are still going up and one day i will sell because of impractical use. quality is quite good but not up to modern standards (300mm f2.8 af-s vr)
