I ordered this as my first additional lens. My camera originally came with just a 18-55 mm lens, which is pretty much the stock lens for Nikon. I was a little skeptical about buying lenses from someone other than Nikon, but after this purchase, I trust this site completely on lens purchases. It was also a major plus on how much cheaper this lens was, rather than ordering directly from Nikon. I love this lens, and it's helped me get those long distance shots that I had trouble with at 55mm. Especially when photographing wildlife. You can get the photo, and a lot of times they won't even know you're there.

I got this cutey in a deal (250 bucks). This is an awesome lens. Very sharp snaps even when zoomed to the maximum, VR takes care of any shakes. AF-S lens, so would auto focus even for the entry level D3000, D3100 etc. I have got tons of very sharp snaps of birds with this lens. Would recommend this one strongly.

I bought this lens to replace an older generic telephoto that would not autofocus on my Nikon D5100, and I love it. It focuses quickly, takes razor sharp images, and it is light enough to put on a camera and carry around. I debated this and the Nikon 55-200 lens that costs about $150 less, but after reading reviews I decided on this one because of its metal mount, its longer reach and the overall quality of the product. I am glad I did. This lens is worth the money.

I knew that the auto-focus was a bit slow when I purchased the product as a factory refurb from another reputable photo supply vendor. This pairs perfectly with my 18-55 VR kit lens that came with my D5000. For this price point, you can't beat the quality.
