The construction of this lens is very good for a zoom. Fully internal zoom and focus (the lens doesn't extend or contract) allows the fully weather resistant lens to be out in rain and dust as well as reduces potential damage from impact. Very sharp for a zoom and converts to a 70-200mm on my smaller frame digital K20D. The SDM works great (fast and quiet) and you can adjust the focus right after the auto focus. Much less expensive and lighter than competitors 70-200mm lenses with drive motors.
