On the face of it, this Tamron's optic is something of a non-starter. Its incredibly lightweight only has a tiny manual focus ring and sports a plastic mount, which doesn't bode well on the durability front. It's also only suitable for digitals SLR's with a crop to sensor - if you have a full frame model or a 35mm SLR, then you'll have to look elsewhere. But all of these the shortfalls are forgotten when you see the quality of results it produces. The lens displays a minimal optical anomalies and produces impressively sharp and contrasty images, particularly at the 55mm setting. Using the central aperture is normally the best bet, but this lens can be used with confidence at the wide and small aperture, too. Granted it's not going to win any durability awards and the auto focusing motor can whine a little, but the fact remains that these little lens punches way above its weight. Unless you really need a fast maximum aperture you'll need to have a very good reason not to invest in this cracking and piece of kit.

I purchased this for my Canon t2i and its working perfectly, quality is nice, it has a Stabilization sensor when you are zoomed in at 300mm , it does take a while to focus and it's nosy, but hey for the price it gets the job done, i recommend this for anybody who is beginner or if you just don't want to spend big bucks on a zoom lens.

This has been a great lens for my Sony camera. I have enjoyed using it to learn more about my camera. It has very good quality! With such zoom, I have had to learn now to hold the camera steady, and often use a tripod, but I have enjoyed every moment of it!

great lens! Fits my Sony nex camera!!

First the price for what you receive is great! this lens work very well even though it does not have VR, if you hold your camera correctly and or use a tripod all photos come out crystal clear.

I like the macro portion of this lens. But at 300mm the CA is so pronounced it is unusable at that length. And it is pretty bad at 200mm. I am very disappointed. I would not recommend this lens.
