JSmug - for Joomla

I have been working on an extension for the mighty open source CMS system Joomla. The current aim is to allow you to view Smugmug gallery contents within the Joomla interface without having to load Smugmug in a wrapper, or anything. So in the spirit of “Release early, Release often”, I have an early beta up and running, which you can download.

   ( Joomla 1.5 Beta )

   ( Joomla 1 version )

Also did you get you discount ?

In the signup form if you enter my Smugmug coupon code K9sYWlPd6cjWk or my email address jeff.arthur(at)bigfoot.com you get the discount.

How do customize JSMUG?
JSMUG works fine for me.
How can I customize JSmug, that the messages
"Click for Larger Images", "10 items" "Next", "Previous", "Close" ... are displayed in German language?

Works with Joomla 1.5
I tried installing the beta version that is supposed to work with Joomla 1.5, but it didn't work. Joomla told me that I needed to be in legacy mode. So I enable legacy mode for the installation, and once the component was successfully installed, I disabled legacy mode. The extension still works perfectly.

Bottom line: you only need to switch to legacy mode for the installation.

Fantastic
Been waiting for so long for an update ...
As I understand this version works in J1.5 in legacy mode.
Hopefully there will be a fully native J1.5 version soon.
Always willing to pay or donate for such a wonderful piece of work. I know that many people are looking for this to work under Joomla 1.5 in native mode.
Keep up the good work Jeff !

installation error
I'm trying to install jsmug on a Joomla 1.5.7 site with Legacy 1.0 activated, but am getting the following error :

Catchable fatal error: Object of class JVersion could not be converted to string in /home/content/n/i/t/nitsunto/html/inauguration2009/staging/administrator/components/com_jsmug/install.jsmug.php on line 33

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. (tried to contact you via email on this, but it bounced back to me)

I love your component and can't wait to use it. I can't get it to work though and I am not sure if it's a problem with my host or something I need to change. Any help that you can give me is deeply appreciated.

Thank you

JSMUG ERROR: Unable to Connect to Smugmug, do you have remote file access disabled in php config? This component currently requires allow_url_fopen = On. This is probably an environmental issue on your server. Consider disabling SSL in the JSmug parameters. It is also possible, though very unlikely, that Smugmug is down.

Hi, I was wondering if you could take a look at my site and let me know if there's something I can do to fix my site's navigation menu showing up on top of my photo in lightbox:

Hey GREAT component. Was wondering how to set it up so the user can arrow or click next through the light box view. I think this is standard functionality in lightbox 2.0
