Going on vacation is a great time to take lots of pictures. But what could be
worse than ruining many travel pictures as they come out blurred, dark, or too
bright? This happened to me all the time until I learned how to take better
vacation pictures. In this article, I will give you the tips and tricks to do so
as well.
The best thing about going on vacation is that you see a bunch of new
settings and such. This is also the worst thing. You are now in a unique
environment. The sun sets at a different time. The lighting is different.
Everything is different. Now that you're away from home you don't have the
precise control you used to.
A solution to the unpredictable is to always be prepared for the worst.
Before you go somewhere, look up as much as you possibly can. Find out how the
weather will be. Checking to see if there's rain or no rain is not enough. Look
and see if it'll be cloudy, hazy, or very sunny. This will affect your shots all
differently.
When you are ready, get your equipment ready. You probably won't be able to
bring as much as you can. A simple diffuser and reflector should do. Also, be
sure to bring plenty of extra camera equipment. Spare batteries and lens
cleaning kits are a must.
Filters are also life savers when on vacation. Polarizing filters really
help. When on vacation, a lot of great shots are through windows. This filter
will get rid of those annoying reflections.
