ContrastThe degree of distinction between areas of different brightness levels in a photograph, i.e., the difference in brightness between light and dark areas. For example, when the reproduction ratio between white and black is clear, contrast is said to be high, and when unclear, contrast is said to be low. In general, quality lenses producing high quality images have both high resolution and high contrast.
